Vodacom ripped me R4000 previously on my data bundle claiming there was a virus downloading on my computer in background. Recently on my smart S I was ripped off again for data I did not use. I received notification on 6/12/2014 that 257.8 MB was remaining. I switched off my mobile data when same day when I received a notification that out of bundle rates will apply. On 8/1/2014 I received a sms that I used 1506MB in December. I logged a query and received a response same day from Maynard that I will be called within 2 weeks. Nobody called. R1504 was deducted as a result on 4/2/2012. I logged another query. Dylan responded on 5/2/2014 saying there is no error on the billing. These data usages occurred after midnight according to the itemised billing (of which I was asleep, with mobile data switched off). The night owl which starts midnight was depleted for December. Most of the usage was on 5/12/2013 according to statement. yet on 6/12/2014 They report 257.8MB. One consultant said applications in background uses data even though mobile data is switched off. The other consultant said that is impossible.
