Our router drops the connection regularly.By this I mean up to every 2 minutes. We reported this 3 years ago, and Telkom, after many technicians climbing poles and testing, told us that it is because we are at the far edge of the exchange area, and a long way from the exchange. Our internet service provider, Mweb, also could not assist, saying that Telkom's poor line quality is to blame. However, they did manage to find an old-model router which was less susceptable to the poor line, and it worked. So, for 3 years we've had this old router giving us sterling service. Unfortunately, it has now given up the ghost! Dead. So, off we went and paid R680 for a new router. It drops the line constantly. If we're lucky, we get an hour or two between dropping, mostly only minutes. So, after some searching, I found a duplicate model of the router that workd, and bought it for R360. It too drops the line, to our frustration. So, what does one have to do to get Telkom to give us an ADSL line (for which we pay full price, mind you) that allows us to access the internet. Can someone please help?
