I have a 2 GB /mth data contract on 0848851949.
23rd Nov I received text from Cell C 0840001530 telling me: "BELIEVE it! We're giving you 3GB EXTRA data each month FREE, on your existing 2GB data package. The extra 3GB is for use between 12am and 6am". I then downloaded a file -400MB at 5 am 28th Nov, expecting it to be free. However, it was deducted from my 2GB contract causing it to exceed the 2GB and resulted in charges to my account.
I called 140 later that morning ref 3112800382 and was told that my query was being escalated to another department and I would receive feedback in 24-48 hrs. No one contacted me. I called again on 9th Dec. I was told the response had been that I had used more than 2GB!! Obviously they had not understood the query!! I re-told the story and was assured that it would be escalated to the disputed query dept who would definitely get back to me within 24 hours. I finally received a text message on 13th Dec which stated "... Please can you take it up withe Store as I see your contract was signed up at the Store". What has this to do with the store?
Called again but was cut off while waiting transfer to escalation desk.
