Lack of communication by MTN

24 month contract was to expire 15 November. On 17 October, went in to MTN to renew contract on a different plan and retain my number. 4 visits later and nothing was concluded. On 31 October e-mailed the branch (Oakfields, Benoni), the retentions and customer care departments of MTN citing my lack of service received and instructing cancellation. No response received. On 4 November, e-mailed again. No response received. On 18 November, went in to Lakeside Mall branch and spoke to Caroline. She provided me with forms which I filled in and e-mailed back to her as she indicated she would try get things sorted for me. On 21 November, receive confirmation of cancellation but advising that de-activation has been set for 20 December based on when documents received.

I notified MTN as far back as 31 October and do not see that I should be penalized for their lack of processing my instruction when it was provided then. I refuse to pay for their total inefficiency in this matter.
