Worst customer service and worse accounts dept!!!

Just when you think that you've had your fair share of bad service, MTN outdoes itself! I was given the option between a regular contract and a TopUp contract last month. After hearing stories of exorbitant bills I was hesitant to take the regular one but the consultant assured me that MTN will give me a credit limit after which the phone would soft lock should I reach it. Not having a clue about data and it's charges I was comforted knowing the maximum amount I would have to pay after which the phone would lock. So I get my first bill and the heart attack that went with it. The bill came to approx. 2.5 time the "credit limit". I phoned Customer Services twice where both consultants found it weird that my phone did not lock as that is what is supposed to happen. Fast forward a week later and someone from accounts finally phones me. My elation quickly turned into pure anger. After shouting in my ear for about 15 minutes, and refusing to listen to me she eluded to the fact that I simply didn't want to pay. I have never been so offended! I am not disputing that I used the data, simply that their system was supposed to lock my account. Why do I have to pay for their faulty system?
