Be careful of Vodacom's Soft Lock Option

I had a soft lock option activated on my data line when I initially upgraded my contract. About 2 months ago I was hit with a huge bill on my data line by Vodacom. When I did an enquiry on why the soft lock option did not activate when I exceeded my monthly data bundle, i was informed by Vodacom that "terms and conditions" apply and that I was still liable for the huge bill. It is very strange that on a pay as you go option that your line will lock when you run out of airtime, but on a contract, there is "selective" locking that is applied by Vodacom. I am not accepting this response from Vodacom and would like to enquire what my next steps are in terms of escalating this matter for arbitration.
