Cancel Contract

I want to cancel my contract with MTN. Not due to bad service but because I want to change phones. I have a blackberry that just keeps on giving problems... Previously I asked how much I will be charged and the amount varied between 5600 to 1800 based on the MTN agent. 6 Months ago on HelloPeter someone responded and clarified that the amount will be approximately R 3300. Today I phoned again and was quoted R3661.60. How could the amount have increased in 6 months even though my handset value depreciates?
