EXORBITANT FIRST BILLS AFTER RECENT DEVICE UPGRADE

On 1 Aug I upgraded my device and moved from Blackberry to Samsung device. At first I selected the selected the 200 TopUp contract option R449 per month. I was not told that the SMS and data allowance on this package was less than the 200 Anytime and this was resolved amicably within the 7 day period. I was billed a double upgrade fee but this is in the process of being resolved. My unbilled balance as at today's date is in excess of R1, 005.00 (subscription fee is R399.00) since a allegedly used in excess of 2G of data between 8 and 13 Aug even though my mobile data is switched off during the day and I use wifi data at work. My device monitors data usage and total mobile date usage since I received the device is only 552mb. Many people I know who recently upgraded to Samsung devices (or other devices) received exorbitant first bills. Upon enquiry to the call centre (808) I was told that the date usage issue will be addressed in plus minus 6 days. I asked to email a complaint but they refuse to give me a email address to where I send a immediate enquiry and get a immediate answer. In unresolved I intend to report this to Consumer Council and insist on cancellation of this contract.
