I have just had the misfortune of spending the best part of an hour on the phone to Vodacom, querying the fact that even tough i was misled into believing that by upgrading an account with them they would ensure that they still collect the remaining 3 months of the replaced contract prior to you moving to the new contract.

When i discovered this a month into the so called new contract and took them on about it i was informed that they always do this.

The reason for me up grading was to reduce the cost of the existing contract so as to save money, i worked out that by upgrading my contract i would same some money, my original contract amounted to R749.00 a month and I still had 3 months left, if i upgraded on month 21 the 3 monthly installments that i would have paid would comfortably cover the cost of the upgrade for the 24 months period, only to find out that they are taking off R540.00 a month now for the remaining 3 months and then only will i be able to get the R69.00 a month contract.

I have requested that the upgrade be cancelled and have been informed that this will not be happening and that the additional cost will continue
