In Feb2013 I enquired about downgrading my contract due to the fact that I am on a My350 top-up and don't need that much airtime per month. My current contract at the time of the equiry was due to expire on 12/3/2013 (to my knowledge, based on the fact that I signed a 24 month contract on 13/3/2011). I was informed that I can ONLY upgrade and not downgrade as my contract only expires on 18/7/2013. When I enquired about this, I was informed that based on the fact that MTN permitted me an early upgrade, they ADDED the outstanding 4 months from the previous contract. MTN could not provide me with a copy of my contract when I requested for it and could also not provide me with a copy of the "Early upgrade form" they claim I have signed, but have no knowledge thereof. When I enquired about "early" cancellation of my contract, I was informed that it would cost me R4345. To add insult to injury, I discovered that my bank account was debited with an additional R59 for the Apr2013 -for BIS as my 24 mnth contract expired. Why do I have to pay add costs, which were not included in my 24mnth contract. I'm still waiting for a response to my email complaint, which MTN never attend to.
