No Stock on an Ordered and Paid for item!!!

On 17 July I placed an order and paid an Invoice for a 4 in 1 Phillips kitchen appliance. I was told that the estimated delivery time is 14 days and that the delivery date would be 6 August. I have in the past few days called them every day. Firstly I was told on Friday 2 August that there is no stock and that they are working on it and that if the delivery date is 6 Aug that they're sure that i'll receive my order by then. I called back on 5 August to see if my delivery would be on the 6th as scheduled. I was then told that my order is in the warehouse to be dispatched and that an email would be sent to their warehouse to ensure that my order is dispatched. Today 6 August I call again I spoke to a very helpful Jamie in the call centre, she called me back to tell me that there is no stock on this item!! I am livid! How can they make you pay for something that they don't have stock on and then no one communicates this with me, if I didn't follow up I would still be waiting for an answer or for a parcel that's doesn't even have a delivery date yet according to their records! I am waiting to hear back from Jamie to see how long this order could still take, it has been 20 days!
