We have let a house through Just Letting Claremont for the last two years in Rondebosch. From the outset, Just Letting have proven to be a source of irritation - charging us each hundreds of rands in admin fees (R600 a pop if memory serves), even on lease renewal (considering that back ground checks had been done originally).

The last straw- Our deposit was returned to us a full 30 days after the end of lease - a bit of a problem when having to cough up a deposit for the next lease. Also note that this is in contravention of the rental housing act (which stipulates 14 days from repair date)

We then found that a number of additional charges had been subtracted, for eg,
1. Ant fumigation - yet there were no sign of ants when we left, nor on the signed exit form.
2. The replacement of a light bulb due to a faulty light fitting - the faulty light fitting was brought to the attention of JL on exit, and a spare bulb left behind by us. They argue that it wasn't faulty, but i dont think light bulbs are meant to explode.
3. MORE service fees and bank charges

Just Letting front office staff have been most unhelpful, and quite frankly very unreasonable. It leaves me breathless.
