Claims not finalised - waste of time

I submitted various chiropractic claims. On each statement the doctor's office has stamped: ACCOUNT PAID IN FULL - PLEASE REIMBURSE MEMBER.

The claims were rejected with the code "Proof of Payment Required".

I queried this with the call centre and was told that the invoices don't show the receipt, Although Liberty has accepted these stamps as proof of payment before, this is a new standard. (Perhaps I would have requested a receipt if this requirement has been communicated proactively??)

I called my doctor's offices and was told their system isn't set up like this and no other medical aids have required it.

So, besides the fact that I have to chase after payments that are now quite old, my doctor's practice is expected to set up a new accounting system?

I would like to know why the stamp does not suffice and how this new standard will delay payments to other medical providers. Are we going to be dealing with this schlep for every claim now?
