Shocking Arrears Account

I took out medical aid for my mom and 2 sisters. After being mislead by the call centre agent about the plan I took out I had to battle to do an Option Change. I finally went from BonEssential to BonPrimary. I proceeded to inquire telephonically about the new amount I was to pay. I was assured R2086 was the new amount which I paid religiously each month.

It was really shocking to me then I received an email stating the account was in arrears by R1440. I immediately sent them the proof of payments as this was surely a mistake. They informed me that the amount I was paying did not include "Late Joiner Fees" I was not aware such a thing even existed and was never made aware that the amount I was paying was incorrect.

I then agreed to pay off that amount over 3 months. After I was unable to pay the extra arrears last month, thinking I had 2 months left to settle this while paying the "NEW AMOUNT" they suspended my moms account and are refusing to activate it.

I think its so strange that they only telling about this areas at this late stage and feel like they are trying to extort money from me. Bonitas is the worst and is truly a SCHEME. They also have the worst service ever!!!
