REPUDIATION OF CLAIM

I have home insurance with nedbank for almost 9 years.
in winter last year my roof tiles were badly damaged and moved due to the strong winds which also then
caused damage to my walls and floor.
i was ignorant to the fact that i could claim for this until a visitor informed me.
thus i only put in the claim a couple of months later.
my claim was declined because its "old damage"
i could understand that the resultant damage could have become worse because it was not attended to earlier but that you shirk all responsibility is an unscrupulous exploitation of the situation.

in the interim i spoke to other insurance brokers who all seem to agree.
