Standard Bank
Standard Bank Insurance does NOT PAY THEIR CLAIMS

Business & Finance

After replacing my roof sheet about a year ago and after this last month or 2 of bad weather the sheet blew up/lifted, water seeped in and caused my ceilings to warp and one fell in, also the resultant damage lifted the wooden flooring and caused mould on the walls. My claim gets repudiated, yes I know my roof has had maintenance on but I am not claiming for my entire roof but rather for the sheet that was replaced and the damage as a result! I get told that they will appoint their own assessor now? What is the use we have insurance with the banks as I am not the only one in this situation, Standard Bank is making money from us and yes if they do not assist me I will take it to the Ombudsman. Do you want our entire roofs to blow off before you pay a claim as I am sure only then it would be valid. The section is where my tenants live in and it has been almost a week since it has happened, do you expect me to have rent paying tenants with no ceiling and a leaking roof? I will have to have it then privately done and you will need to cover the costs as the conditions are becoming worse! If this was with Santam they would at least paid an ex gratia and I will take my cover elsewhere!
