I registered a claim on Monday 28 October 2013 for the following: Leaking roof that caused damage the ceiling in my bedroom and garage. roof tiles blown away by strong wind. This resulted in a leak into my lounge. on 29 October an assessor was sent to my house while I was at work. I asked my daughter to point out all the problem areas. on 30 October 2013 I received a phone call from a consultant of Standard Bank Insurance informing me that my claim was declined because the photo's they took indicate that there are cracks in the roof tiles causing the leaks. When I told the consultant that I was not satisfied with their decision he told me to find an independent contractor to give me a quote and send it to them.
I bought this house in April 2011. No one from Standard Bank Insurance made an assessment of the condition of the house when they insisted that a policy be taken out with the home loan. My premiums are paid timeously every month. Now that I have problems their excuse for decleining my claim is poor maintenance but they do not decline my money at the end of every month.
Please assist me in resolving this matter because the damage is getting worse everytime it rains.
