I requested my existing Life Cover (4 years) be increased. Went for a medical and was advised to wait 7 working days. My husband applied for the first time and was vetted within 48hours.
It has now been 30 days and still I am waiting on my documents. THANKFULLY, i have the best Broker - S. Abrahams. This Lady has kept me sane and calm throughout this process.
However - It is mind boggling that such a huge Financial Institutions escalation process is as follows:
- documents go into a queueing system (this is fair)
- BUT when your Broker queries how far the process is, you are then REMOVED from your place and placed at the end of the queue... How does this even make sense. So you end up starting the process all over again.
Talk about managing your clients expectations
So here we are my Wonderful Broker and her Manager are on the case, going from department to department and NO ONE, not a single department is taking responsibility for this delay.
My Broker was told when asking WHY this has happened - wait for it... IT IS A SYSTEM ERROR.
I have 4 policies with OM, will my family experience such delays when I die? Will I, for my Retirement Annuity or Retrenchment?
