I have once applied for a Credit Card. I was then approved, recieved an sms telling me to go collect the Card at the Bellville Branch. I went to collect the Card but no one knew where the card was and therefore did nto recieve the card.
Now I noticed I have been recieving Credit card statements, monthly service fee charged. I went to Absa Aderley street to enquire as to why am I being billed for a service that I did not recieve. We called their Credit card division, they insist I should pay those fees before I can close that account.
I fail to understand and refuse to pay those funds for the following reasons.
1. It was their mistake that they could not hand me the card when I went to collect.
2. How could they activate an account if they knew that I did not recieve the card.
3. I did all that they expected me to do, but failure is on them and they must account for it.
