On the 2 April my mum who is 75 years old was booked on the Greyhound Passenger Coach bound for Durban. The departure time was 11:45 a.m. I carried her 2 bags to the back of the bus. The driver rudely pointed me to the side baggage compartment. He gestured with his hand that I should pass the bag to him. I asked if he could assist me as it was very heavy. His reply was "Lift it yourself I am not paid to do that". The bus arrived at 12:30.There was no warning given that the bus would be late. The bus departed. At 15:30 I received a sms informing me that the bus was having technical problems, which was been attended to. This had occurred an hour after the bus had departed from Secunda. When I called the office I was unable to get any answers from the consultants. The passengers were made to wait in the bus for five hours before another bus arrived. She was due to reach PMB at 6:30 instead she arrived at 2:30.No apology was made by Greyhound. Passengers had no access to amenities. My mum was severely traumatised when she got home. This is the second incident with Greyhound. I will never use Greyhound again. I will also inform family, friends and associates of my experience.
