Party of 8 people booked return trips from Jhb to Durban & back. The 23h00 bus on 30th was delayed for 1 hr due to a booking dispute. No explanation to passengers while the police, Greyhound officials & perpetrators were arguing outside the bus. We departed at 24h00 not 23h00. Bus in good condition, arrived in Durban at 7h05. A total different scenario coming back on 3 Feb 2014 with11h00 bus in a very bad condition with a damp smell, air condition on top level not in working condition, curtains on windows wet. When booking I asked whether, elderly parents could get a seat on bottom level & was told that a note would b put for the hostess to try & accommodate. When we enquired-were told the bus was fully booked. At 15h10 the bus made a stop for driver changeover & for passengers to use restrooms etc. Told that the bus would be locked, but a man who was obviously watching & had done this before ran to the bus and searched through some passengers luggage. The police on the premises were told. This was a 1st family bus travel experience and Greyhound was recommended as the best - unfortunately this experience has left such a very bad taste in our mouths.
