SAA
Christmas woes

Traveling & Tourism

This is an expression of utter disappointment.

For the first time I flew on Christmas day.

Our Christmas day flight was more than an hour late to begin with.

This did not put all those that had been waiting to board into a good mood. Especially those I call boarding-enthusiasts (you know those that jump up and run to the boarding gate as soon as boarding is announced) had been standing, admirably, for a very long time.

Upon boarding the plane, there was not one scrap of Christmas cheer. NOTHING. De nada.

Not even a Merry Christmas from the flight attendant standing by the door. Supper and drinks were hurredly served and the flight staff were hardly seen for the rest of the journey. There was no special Christmas meals, announcements or even a badge/ Santa-hat being worn by the attendants.

What an utterly miserable flight back home it was.

I am so disappointed with SAA in bringing absolutely no cheer into my festive season, on the day I think I may, with reason, expect it the most.

Needless to say, I will not be flying SAA soon again. Joining many others in this decision.
