I recently made an on-line booking with SAA and in error I entered my daughters second name in the surname field. When I discovered the problem, which was after I paid for the ticked, I contacted SAA to ask them to rectify the problem so that my daughter did not encounter a problem when she checked in. I was advised that I needed to cancel the ticket and rebook but that I would only get the airport taxes refunded and would have to re-pay for the SAA charges.

I understand the need to protect SAA against cancellation of the ticket but all I required was an error in the name to be corrected. I find this totally unacceptable
