My child was needed to be flown to the Red Cross Children's hospital in Cape Town ON 03 June 2013. The company (AMS) could not at the time inform me if me and my wife could accompany my child on the flight. I booked myself a ticket with SA Express (ETKT0832119587822) if we could not be able to all fly with the AMS. I did not make use of the ticket and we are now 5 weeks in Cape Town, awaiting a kidney transplant for my son. My wife needs to return to Port Elizabeth. On 09 June I approached SA Express if my wife can maybe make use of the ticket as I am not going to utilise the ticket for now and my wife needs to return due to work commitments. We thought that if she can make use the ticket it will be a lesser financial burden on us due to our son's medical costs up to date. SA Express response was only that their policy does not make provision for this and that the ticket is not refundable as well (Incident 130709-000027) contact person Clint Harris. I even phoned the customer care centre and the only response once again was sorry we cannot assist you. I personally feel surely there should and could be a means in which SA Express can assist, but is only unwilling.
