Refused to cell me a Vodacom Micro-Simcard

Telecommunications

I went to the Vodashop store at the Crest shoping Centre on Thursday 7th March with a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note II (lte), to purchase a Vodacom Pre-Paid Micro-Simcard and do an sim-swap. One of the shop assistants was helping me - he brought a Pre-paid Micro-Simcard and started the sim-swap process. Another guy did a data transfer from my old blackberry phone to my new Sumsang Galaxy Note 2 (lte). I was about to pay for the Pre-paid Micro-simcard and the data transfer service when I met Jason (apparrently the store Manager). He refused to sell me the Simcard and insisted that a Pre-paid Simcard cannot be used on the Samsung Galaxy Note II (lte). Apparently this phone is only meant for contract Simcards! He told me to either return the phone to the store where I bought it and ask them to replace it with a non-Lte one, or to take out a cell phone contract (I don't like cell phone contracts, so I refused). I took the phone to another Vodashop store (Clearwater mall) where the service was good. They sold me a Prepaid Simcard and disabled the lte function - Jason insisted that the LTE function could not be disabled on this phone. I will never go into the Cresta Vodashop store again.
