On 08th Mar I called customer services & spoke to agent regarding data usage of R293, He referred me to the blackberry support team & the agent advised me to delete my opera mini app and use the browser on the handset &I WONT BE BILLED. The agent then told me that Vodacom feels that there is too many downloads recently, I don't see why this is a problem as I did not have an issue previously & did not incur any data bill. On Mar 10th I downloaded using the browser on handset as advised by the blackberry agent & at 1am March 11th I received a text stating that my phone is soft locked with a data charge of R 879.60. I called customer services again inquiring the soft lock and the agent told me that I was previously misinformed & that I will be billed at R2 per MB. I will not pay this bill as Vodacom is supposed to inform their customers in advance that there is a new billing process. I was not informed about any data chargers & I was also misinformed by a Vodacom representative. I have been with Vodacom for the last 11 years & this is PATHETIC SERVICE. Vodacom does not forget to take my money every month so how did they forget to inform me of their new billing changes
