I have had Vodacom insurance for the last six years and pay my premiums every month. Recently my iPhone got knocked out my hand and the phone was damaged. I sent it in for repairs to Vodacom. The first thing that really frustrates me is that they know they don't fix iPhone's (told by consultant when enquiring) but they still take it away and make me wait 5/ 6 days to hear any feedback. Then they say they can't fix it and Voda insurance will replace my phone. Then I find out they will only pay out for R5000 where my phone costs R7999?! - they said I was put in the wrong insurance bracket and was supposed to stipulate what phone I had every time I do an upgrade. I honestly didn't know this (I thought they do it automatically when you upgrade) nor did I receive any communication from a consultant or Vodacom when I upgraded. They just keep it quiet and when i do finally have a claim, then they like "oh sorry, you will have to choose another phone" this is very harsh as I have bought so many iPhone apps and products that I can't use if I do choose another phone and I don't have 3k to just pay the difference - it's why you take out insurance.
