Cancelled my ADSL line and still receiving account

Telecommunications

On the 18th of Nov 2012 i gave notice to cancel my line, which then should of been cancelled on the 18th of Dec 2012 one month later. I was away in Dec and early Jan and therefore didn't receive my account for Dec, after receiving an sms with regard to the outstanding amount on the 6th Jan I called 10210 and was assisted by a very helpful employee, I then made an EFT payment with the details I was given on that date. Today (06/02/2013) I received another sms saying that there is a final balance that needs to be paid to avoid legal actions. I have moved and didn't bother changing my address because i was under the impression that Dec was the last account I would have to pay as I cancelled the line. I called 10210 again to try solve the problem, I was told that I shouldn't have received that sms and that my account has a credit balance, that assistant then emailed me the account, which is clearly for Jan 2013, and my account was cancelled in Dec. The account doesn't show that i have a credit balance, instead another months charges. Why should I pay an amount for Jan if my account should of been cancelled in Dec???
