Telkom
Still paying for services cancelled

Telecommunications

During November 2012 I cancelled my business telephone lines (4), because I moved to another city. I also requested that Telkom install a ADSL line at the premises I moved to because there were only a normal telephone line. On 5 January 2012 we could not use our internet and were told by Telkom it was because my account was not paid in Lichtenburg. I paid the full amount immediately and the ADSL line were restored. During February 2012 Telkom cut my ADSL line because my account for Lichtenburg were not paid. I phoned, armed with my payment advice but were told that I am still using the ADSL line in Lichtenburg. How was this possible. Telkom cancelled only three of the lines I requested to be cancelled in November 2012, but not the ADSL line. I phoned their customer care and accounts but to no avail. April 2013 I still had to pay the ADSL line in Lichtenburg that should have been cancelled in November 2012, to enable my business to use the ADSL line at my current address. Telkom contacted me on two occasions to resolve the matter and each time I had to fax my cancellation letter together with my payments, the end result I have been handed over to attorneys.
