I recently changed my contract from my mother's name to mine as I started working. This took place in October or November 2013. I also upgraded my contract from a Topup any time 200 to the same contract with a new handset on the 2nd of January 2014.

Today, on the 1st of February 2014, I looked at my account and saw that a deduction was made by MTN to the amount of R680, in stead of my contract amount of R389. I called the call center, and I was told that the extra charge is because I took out a "new" contract and also pro-rata charges for January. I was never advised by the MTN Nigel branch that these charges will apply.

I am very unhappy about the fact that I was not informed by the agents properly. I wish to have this matter addressed urgently and the money that I was not told about refunded into my account.

I have been with MTN for the last 9 years and I have never had any problems with them. Please do not make me regret my decision to stay with MTN.
