Upgrading tower suspends data service for months

I took out a data contract with 8ta and was very happy with the connection which was fast and reliable. Unfortunately earlier this year for some unknown reason the connection became unstable and exceedingly slow making it unusable. Initially the call centre was helpful, sending out a technician immediately who confirmed there was a problem but since then no change in connection status and I have to beg for any feedback. I have managed to learn that the tower is being upgraded but they dont know when proper service will be restored. All I get told is that they are awaiting feedback from their networks department and that is all they can do. Either the 8ta call centre is useless or they have no teeth, which by proxy makes them useless. Meanwhile they keep taking my money every month for a service they are not providing, will not respond to my requests for them to install a booster, and have now started ignoring my emails. This has been ongoing for 6 months now and is both unprofessional and unacceptable. If you are considering taking out a data contract with Telkom mobile just pray that nothing goes wrong!
