I just found out that as a contract customer I can't set any limits on my account. I called 808 and was told so. MTN goes out of its way to be unhelpful in managing mobile costs... The marketing material will tell you otherwise, however, if something unexpected happens, like my colleague that got a R6000 bill for a stollen phone, then MTN just shrugs their shoulders, saying "not our problem", while smiling as they make him pay the bill. I want to protect myself from that type of situation, however MTN is giving criminals every opportunity to further from people, but not giving them control over their contracts, mostly cause they are the fortuitous recipients of the proceeds. I am grossly disappointed in MTN. There is the National Credit Act, the Consumer protection Act, FICA, RICA, WASPA... you name it... all of these does nothing for me as a mobile using consumer, because there is no motivation for MTN to protect us... Shame on you MTN.
