Beware: mwebb’s underhanded and unethical practices

I was a satisfied customer of ISP mwebb, having 1 account in JHB and and a second ISP account with another provider.
I decided to enquire as to move the second account over to mwebb, the account was set up and documentation for my signature was forwarded to me for signing and returning, with a copy of my ID and proof of residence.
Due to various reasons none of this was done, my understanding being that as RICA requirements were not met, and, as is the case with bank and cell phone accounts could not be activated.
Great was my shock to receive a bill from said company demanding payment for this second account. Bottom line is account was activated I must pay; even if the account was not used, they are unable/unwilling to provide proof of such usage. They are not interested in the RICA provisions and believe they are not subjected to them. They also have scant regard for the Consumer Protection Act, and cooling off periods etc.
Beware of mwebb's underhanded and unethical business practices; this is why there is the consumer protection act, to protect consumers against such predatory practices.
