WARNING: If you have a contract with Nashua Mobile, your money is NOT SAFE.
I've been a Nashua Mobile customer for over 10 years. My phone was a month ago, and the criminals ran up a bill of over R7000 before I was able to report the phone. This is despite having a call limit of R580, and a "maximum spend limit" of around R1500. According to Nashua's terms and conditions, their limits are "not a guaranteed service".
When I asked them "What if the criminals had run up a R500, 000 bill, would I still be liable? " They said "Yes."
What!? Are you joking? My credit is UNLIMITED!? How, in this age of the Consumer Protection Act and the National Credit Act, have they managed to figure out how to be able to bill a customer infinitely?
If you are a client (or a prospective client) check your terms and conditions very, very carefully because they believe there is a fat loophole there through which they can pilfer money from their loyal customers.
Suffice to say that after a month of trying to resolve this amicably though them and getting stone-walled, I'll be taking this to the National Credit Regulator.
