MTN - changing the measurement of time!

Telecommunications

I recently took out a corporate contract with MTN. The phone was eventually delivered to my office. I did not sign for it and nobody checked my address verification or my ID. This happened Thursday (14/11). The phone was heating up, freezing and eventually I was unable to connect to the internet or any internet related services or mobile services (ie unable to get calls or make calls or texts). On Thursday (21/11) after calling 809, I was told that I should take it to a store immediately which i did only to be told that the 7 days had already expired on Wednesday. I am not sure how MTN calculates these 7 days, but in my mind it should 7*24 hours. This is surely a universal metric which MTN cannot just change as they wish. Everyone seemed to "understand my frustration" but nobody did anything about it even though it was clear the phone had manufacturing faults. I was told that the screen protector i bought would notbe replaced by MTN nor would there be any compensation for the apps. MTN should take some responsibility for sending out faulty units. i took my phone in on 12 dec to Blueroute MTN and MTN seems to have lost the unit since rather than replacing it even thought they at fault!
