Terrible service from Vodacom

Bought a prepaid sim card and started using my cellphone as a modem over 3 years ago. Registered with vodamail and have been using this as my primary email account (had saved in the region of 1.5gb of important emails in this time and given this address out to many as a verification address). Last week I was unable to gain access to my account. I ignored the problem as I was quite busy at the time and tried again a couple of days later. Seeing that nothing had changed I decided to contact vodacom customer care who informed me that my account has been deleted due to me not using the sim card for an extended period of time and that there was nothing that I or they could do to retrieve the lost emails. I feel that this was totally unfair. The least they could've done was check whether the account was active or notify me via email before deleting the account. To add insult to injury the new account I created has not been working since yesterday. Called Vodacom customer care this morning and after holding for a very long time, they don't seem to know what the problem may be. I have 5 lines with Vodacom (1x data and 4x voice) and starting to really reconsider my choice. This type of beha
