I took a contract with Vodacom in July and the contract stipulated that I was going to pay R383 per month. The first month they were true to their word and I was billed the agreed amount. The 2nd month things just went awkward as I was charged R1564 or equivalent to that. I stopped using the phone during that month with bill at the mentioned amount. Amazingly the bill keeps incurring additional charges and the account is now standing R8002.00. I am required to pay this amount even though I tried to get an explanation as to how charges are being incurred when I am no longer using the phone.

I am also getting a bad credit record as this account reflects negatively on my profile. I will never abdicate on my responsibilities, but I will also never honour a breach of contract with payment. I need Vodacom to advise me on how the current amount was reached. I am R Makwela and my contract number was 071 420 8452. Upon contacting Vodacom Customer Care I was informed that the number is now cancelled, which makes it even more interesting as to what charges am I getting when the number is non-existent.
