I have been having bad sync speeds (1 Meg at most 2 Megs) with my DSL internet connection (4 Meg line) and have been on the phone a few times to report the fault. Last week Wednesday I received an SMS stating the problem was resolved and indeed it was working at an acceptable speed (just over 3 Megs). On Friday night the service dropped again to sync speeds of below 2 Megs and remained at about an average of 1 Meg to 1.7 thorough the weekend. This morning I phoned and was assisted. The ports were reset and the line was syncing at about 3 Megs. After about 20 mins though the line dropped to 1.7megs so I called telkom again. I did not get the name of the consultant but she was extremely rude to me and insisted the sync was happening at 5 megs at the exchange and my routers sync speed had nothing to do with the the issue at hand. She has logged the issue again that was apparently resolved last week Wednesday and I find myself thinking that logging a fault weekly and spending 30 minutes on the phone weekly is absurd - especially when the consultant is rude!
P.S Telkom the online fault reporting site was giving a internal server error (500) on the weekend.
