They do not want to fix

I only got a call today since the 5th and the phone is still not working. I took back he phone to MTN repair in Midrand Monday ad as it had a scratch on the screen which was not there when I took the phone before, they are saying the phone is now out of warranty and I must pay. The scratch happened only over th weekend whereas the problem of the phone not working is since the 6th of October. I told them that I do not want them to repair the scratch but I want them to fix the text message problem and their response is that I must pay for that. I am really loosing business and MTN is not helping. Please, I need help.
