Won't repair under warranty

Blackberry 9780 went from perfect use to white screen, took in for repairs as it was still under warranty, but was told it was due to physical damage and i would have to pay r1941!!! No physical damage has ever been done to this phone, a tiny, hardly naked to the eye scratch is on the one corner of the phone, this phone is nearly 2 years old, so now they are blaming it on physical damage! I have been with MTN since MTN inception... never had a swop or repair done before!!!
I would like to know where I stand now... their word against my word?
the phone was given back to me unrepaired!!
