I am an mtn contract customer on a R299 top up contract. I have recently updraged. I picked the Samsung S4 mini deal from the y'ello deals brochure (R299 for R200 airtime, 20 sms and internet bundle, with 150 bonus bundle advertised for this month) Firstly they did not have the phone in stock, the 2nd time I went in to the store the system was down, so I left a copy of my ID and I was told mtn would process my upgrade: R299, along with R150 transfer fee for changing the name on the contract and pro rata charges from the date the name on the con5ract was changed. Fine! but then when I went to collect my phone yesterday the contract said my new montlhy payments would be R369 with only 150 internet bundle. Apparently mtn Top up customers don't qualify for the deals in the y'ello magazine, only open line customers do. Where is this stated in that magazine? and why wasn't I informed of this buy any of the several consultants I had to deal with to get this upgrade finally processed?!!! I am so fed up with Mtn's lack of service and trying to squeeze every bit of money they possibly can out of their customers. I am fuming!
