Faulty cellphone within 48 hours

I renewed my contract with vodacom and received a brand new Samsung S4 mini. I received the phone on Saturday 9 November 2013. On tuesday 12 November 2013 the phone just went dead. I took it back to vodacom and they said that they have to send the phone away and it could take up to 14 days. I phoned Samsung to complain that I should receive a brand new phone immediatly because its within 7 days and they said that is their policy but not vodacoms policy. It is shocking. Now I sit without a phone only 3 days after receiving a brand new phone which is faulty.
