Vodacom: disgusting service, extra-large contract

I recently renewed my contract with Vodacom, with whom I spend >R1000/month. I was advised to get the Samsung X-Cover. Within the initial 7-days of the contract, I had to return it as it was faulty. A month went by I was given a replacement phone - same model. This phone was also faulty and I returned it within 7 days, with the required complaint letter. I emphasized that I NEVER want to see the X-Cover again and that I expected that I would be given the option for a different phone. Vodacom never responded to my letter, but merely sent the phone back to the local store three weeks later, with no explanation. The phone is as bad as it was when I first got it: It drops calls, freezes or takes ridiculous time to upload any data and the battery life is still no longer than half a day. The impersonal, disrespectful way that I have been treated by Vodacom is disappointing. As a long-standing customer who left MTN for Vodacom's 'better service' 7 years ago, who spends a not-so-insignificant amount of money with Vodacom on a monthly basis, I am unhappy. I cannot use my BRAND NEW phone, because it is totally dysfunctional and Vodacom does not appear to be the slightest bit concerned.
