Amount Owing After Contract Cancellation

I had a Cellphone contract which was taken out in 2004/2005 with Vodacom Meyersdal Alberton, a few months later the phone was and i reported it to Vodacom, (the Handset WAS insured by Vodacom) i didnt receive a new handset or anything!!

Now 7 Years later i am being told i am on ITC and blacklisted due to an unpaid vodacom account... I am being harassed daily by MBD Attorneys aswell regarding this. I spoke to Gugu at the call centre and she confirmed an Arrears amount of R1395.00. I confirmed this with Vodacom and i have a print out as proof that the only amount owing is R1395.00 - now im being told I owe R7299.00 for an account that WAS cancelled. i confirmed with Vodacom in durban and was advised that it is a Cancelled account. Now MBD is wanting me to pay for the handset.

I have sent numerous emails, but no response!!! Im will to pay the R1395.00 and have my name cleared, but they wont hear it!!! HOW CAN SOMEONE BE HELD LIABLE FOR A CANCELLED ACCOUNT OF SO MANY YEARS BACK!!!

I will be going to the press Regarding MBD Attorney and Vodacom regarding this matter
