MWeb won't acknowledge cancellation of account

I cancelled my 1Mbps ADSL account with Mweb on Friday 4 October 2013. I completed the form and emailed it to the email provided by Mweb. Still heard nothing from them, not even an acknowledgement that they received the form. I phoned them this morning and the accounts consultant, Valencia, said they did receive my form and that it was in order. She said Mweb was supposed to send out an automated email acknowledging receipt of my cancellation. I didn't receive it (even checked my spam folder, not there). She said the reason is there is a "backlog of cancellations". Frankly, I'm not surprised. Having dealt with both Mweb and Telkom, I have to say that Telkom offers better service (both customer and technical).

And yes, I am aware that a calendar month's notice is required for cancellation, but the least Mweb could do is acknowledge the receipt of the form I sent or give me a time frame of when I can expect one.
