Virgin mobile is not cancelling my contract!!!

I'm still waiting for my contract to be cancelled as promised. I did call a month before my cancellation date as asked, I've done everything asked of me. It was supposed to be cancelled yesterday and moved to prepaid. But I'm still on contract, it still running!! And to make it worse, I've to hold on the phone more than 5 minutes for somebody to answer! It feels like nobody is present at Virgin Mobile. I get the message that they DO NOT care about customer care at all!! If they cared at all, I would have my problems, issues and so on resolved very quickly. How can they be a business if a customer gets no proper customer service?!? What am I paying for?
