I have a data mobile solution for my school in the rural town of Kranskop in KZN. We had this product for approximately 6 years and understood that the internet speeds are low (GPRS) in the area. The USB modem worked fine until some time in May this year when it began disconnecting almost immediately after connecting - also continually searching for device etc. This impacted on our email/ fax2email (primary usage at school due to low connection speeds), I logged a complaint and we were attended to - the problem seemed to be over - but a week later this same problem began again. A complaint was logged before school closure and when we re-opened, another complaint was logged as nothing was done. Today, I was told that the problem is with the modem - yet it works fine at my home (Greytown) when I use it in the evenings. The 3 computers were checked for viruses / product Mobile Broadband re-installed etc to no avail. We have a contract that expires next year and are paying for a service that is non existent at school. I bought a prepaid MTN moblie and am using this - it connects at over 1MB/s! Vodacom is a rip off and I want out of the contract!!!
