What's the point of a contract

I upgraded my phone in March and signed for a prepaid contract for 479rand meaning my account should be debited with the same amount every month since then MTN debits my account with whatever amount they wish! I've called the call centre 6times now and each time its a different story 1st they made a mistake next that they have a BIS subscription on my account (I do not have a blackberry)... Then that they applied for a credit on my account a week later it hasn't been "approved" they will inform me once its done a week later nothing I call they've supposedly approved a credit of 142 i wonder how cause BIS is 60rand? A week later i get my 1st statement from mtn that I've ever received in over 2years and it does not reflect a credit or 479 I call once again and they OFFLINE no one can help a day later i call so now apparently after the credit was approved no one applied for it to actually be credited to my account does that even make sense??? So another debit order for whatever amount they decide gone off for another month... I signed a contract for a specific amount for a reason!!! And funny no one cares to call u back or even sms i must call them!!! Sigh
