Beware of huge credit limits handed out by Vodacom

My smart phone service was disconnected on 12 December. On this day, my account was R 5974.69. I was shocked to hear the amount that I apparently owed. I wanted to know how it was possible to have reached such a hight amount. I was advised I had a credit limit of R 8000, I do not recall ever having a credit limit discussion with Vodacom. I have a talk 1000 contract with a data package, and have very rarely exceeded that amount, and if so, it would have been by a small amount. The fact that I had reached that amount by the 12th of the month was completely out of character. I disputed the amount with Vodacom, I've had one phone call from someone, as far as I am concerned the dispute was not resolved. Then the full amount was debited from my account. Furthermore, I have not yet received the invoice from Vodacom. Please be very careful of Vodacom's attitude of dishing out credit limits to their clients without their clients consent or knowledge, and then they just take the funds from ones account even when there is a dispute. Whatever Vodacom say, and whatever words in their contract they hide behind, what they are doing by dishing out huge credit limits in IMMORAL!
