My 2x contracts MTN 200@R99 UYO expired in January 2012. I received numerous calls to upgrade my contracts which I declined. I have never received any notice (written or verbal) from MTN to inform me that "the discount has only been allocated for 24 months" and as the contracts had expired you are going to be billed double the amount monthly. My contracts with MTN does not provide me with this information. This was one part of the report back I received on my query and the other was "the contract runs on a month to month basis until such time we receive cancellation request from you". Does this means that MTN can charge me any amount after the 24 months of the contract without written notification to me? They have overcharged me with the amount of R202.00 for 15 months so far which ad up to R3030.00. I have cancelled both my contracts which in itself is another complaint. I have asked a lot of friends if they know that after their contract period they are going to pay a different amount and all of them were not aware of this.
